Beach House wines emerged in 1997 , on a site in Te Awanga near the coast on the way to Cape Kidnappers.
Sporting a straw bale winery , Beach House is worth a visit on those lazy summer days when the sea breeze blows gently over Te Awanga and Haumoana .
The winemaker Chris Harrison , also has a planting of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc in Mere Road which is in the Gimblett Gravels area. This enables Chris to produce a range of wines from Sauvignon Blanc and Reisling from the Levels Vineyard to some wonderful premuim, blended reds from Gimblett Gravels.
In 2004 Cuisine magazine awarded 5 stars for Levels Chardonnay.
