Simply a Stunner

The long, hot, dry summer has prompted Tim Turvey of Clearview Estate to state that the 09 season was 'simply a stunner'
Tim believes the season may be the equal of 1998 which was the best in Hawles Bay in recent memory. The reds in particular and possibly Merlot could be a standout variety.
Tony Bish of Sacred Hill said he was looking at outstanding Gimblett Gravels Reds including merlot, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc.

Chardonnay is also looking exceptional and this is great for this popular Hawkes Bay wine

First Hawkes Bay Wine of  '09

Clearview Estate is a clear winner with its' 2009 Gerwutztraminer on sale at selected stores this week.

Gerwurtztraminer,  making a quiet comeback, will be welcomed by wine buffs wanting to taste the first release of wine for the 2009 vintage.
Exceptional Season

Hawkes Bay has had a summer out of the box.A long dry summer with only a short period of rain in February.
Reports coming in suggest the reds from Hawkes Bay will be  exceptional so mark down 09 as a year to make note of.
The dry year has provided winemakers with fruit of high quality and concentrated  flavour.
Enjoy.
Harvest Hawkes Bay Relocates

In 2010 Harest Hawkes Bay will shift its festival location to Roys' Hill Park .
Where is Roys' Hill Park ?
Those familiar with the Gimblett Gravels area may have observed an elevated area close to the Gimblett Road vines. This is the area on State Highway 50 where the new venue will be situated and with a great view over the gravels and vines it would have to be considered a great move.
Buses will still operate but will go to the new venue instead of taking people around the wineries.
Some 40 wineries and food producers will be present on site. This will enable visitors to take in the hilights of Hawkes Bay from one location.
Harvest Hawkes Bay has moved the date a little to avoid clashes with the sevens in Wellington and it is now to take place on the 30th January. Auckland Anniversary weekend.
